The Oscars

I am tired today as I stayed up late to catch the end of the Oscars broadcast. It seems like we go to the movies less and less because it is so expensive. Our most recent outings were to see "The Adventures of TimTim" and the Sherlock Holmes film. We use to go more often because we were members of the 5 buck club which allowed you to see a movie after it had been out a few weeks for $5. We use to also have a Cheap Seat theater her but that has closed. We tend to wait to see stuff until it is on DVD and get it fromt he Red Box.

This years Nominees for best film Included:

The Descendants
The Artist
Midnight in Paris
Hugo
Moneyball
War Horse
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
The Help
The Tree of Life.

Most of these I had at least heard of. The only one of these I have seen is The Help and I missed a little of that when I feel asleep. Since I have started getting up early (4:30) to work out at the Y it is hard for me to stay awake if we don't start a movie until Bella is in bed. I believe Scott may have seen The Descendants and Moneybal, neither of which interested me that much. I would like to see Midnight in Paris (loved Paris when I was there), Hugo (Bella and her class went to hear the author of the book speak this past fall), War Horse (although it is probably too violent and will make me cry), Extremely Loud and Incredibly close (really like both Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock), and I might want to see The Artist and The Tree of Life but I doubt if Scott would. I would also like to see The Vow which is out currently-I am sure it is a tear jerker.

After seeing the awards last night I thought I would create a list of my favorite movies. Below is my top 10 in no particular order.

Hildago-Loved this story and its based on true events.

The Sound of Music-One of my all time favorites, Love Julie Andrews and I love all the songs, Seeing the beautiful setting doesn't hurt either.

Indiana Jones and Raiders of the Lost Ark-Loved Harrison Ford in this movie, It plays into my anthropology backgrount, it is exciting and has humor and they are looking for an interesting treasure.

Step Mom-Julie Roberts and Susan Sarandon-makes me cry everytime, but doesn't keep me from watching it.

Hope Floats-also makes me cry

Mrs. Doubtfire-cracks me up!

Forrest Gump-I will stop and watch this everytime I see it is on. Love the mix of history with fiction.

The Notebook-I am a sap for love stories-Loved the book too!

Second Hand Lions-great comic timing in this movie

The Blind Side-a great story, great acting.

I really like comedies but can't think of one I really love-"grumpy old men" pretty funny but I have not seen it in awhile.

I like annimated movies and with a kid I have see a lot. Shrek is good because of dialoge between Shrek and Donkey.

That's my movie wrap

Obese girl out.
